

He was born January 3, 1936, in Springfield, Illinois to John and Verona (Johnson) Hunt. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Diana, of Springfield and one son, Jeffrey (Susan) Hunt of Springfield and step-daughters Cheryl Dearing, Deborah Waller (Dan Curtis) and Angela Pochart (Craig) all of AZ. He has 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Gregory and brothers David and John Hunt, Jr.
Paul served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Eastern Illinois University. He was active in Parents Without Partners. He retired from the Illinois Department of Employment Security in 1998. He loved cars and had a Model A for several years. He loved to help people by telling where he'd seen cars for sale and sometimes financing them if they needed his help. He enjoyed the years spent wintering in Florida. He and Diana were members of Lincolnland Coachmen for many years traveling in their motorhome. Paul was a member of Cherry Hills Church and attended the Kingdom Builders Sunday School class.
Services are entrusted to Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen, Springfield, IL. Cremation rites were accorded and inurnment will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
