Paul E. Tewes

Paul Eric Tewes went home to his Lord unexpectedly on the morning of August 4, 2016. Paul was born November 16, 1964 in Haven, KS the youngest of four sons born to Wil and June Tewes. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, June Tewes. He is survived by his wife Tammy, children Hope, Tristen, Katryna, by his father Wil, by his brothers Mark (Debbie), Tim (Renee), Doug (Denise). He is also survived by his mother-in-law Ruth Place, sisters-in-law Joyce (Lyle) Froese, Teresa (Steve) Sneath, Kathy (Norman) Peterson, Karen (Nick) Blanchat and brother-in-law Karlton (Kelvi) Place. There are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church Haven, KS and confirmed his Christian faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Seward, NE. Paul graduated from Kaukauna High School in Kaukauna, WI in 1983. He attended and played football at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE from 1983-1985 and then completed his undergraduate and football career at Concordia University Seward, NE 1985-1988. Paul met his future wife, Tammy Place, while in school at Concordia and they were married on July 7, 1990 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, KS. Paul began an agribusiness career in northeast Missouri after his graduation. Paul and Tammy began their family as he continued his business career earning an MBA from Quincy University in May 2001. Paul worked in financial management with several brokers in the Springfield, IL area and had recently opened his own brokerage firm. Paul and Tammy raised three children, Hope 19, Tristen 15, Katryna 12. As a family they have been very involved at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, FCA, and athletics at Pleasant Plains High School where Paul and Tammy have been involved as coaches. Paul was a passionate servant to his family, his church, the athletes he coached (especially his own kids), and his clients. He enjoyed water skiing, hunting, and rebuilding Jeeps. Paul was a true blessing to all who knew him.

Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory, Springfield, IL.

The Tewes family will receive friends at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 2645 Old Jacksonville Rd., Springfield, IL, Monday, August 8, 2016 beginning at 9:00 am until the time of Christian Memorial Service to celebrate Paul’s life and his new life with his Lord at 10:30 am. Rev. Joshua T. Traxel and Rev. Dr. Wayne P. Hoffman will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Paul E. Tewes Memorial Fund to be distributed for support of his passions and charities.
