

Timmy was born on February 5, 1964, in Springfield, the son of Paul and Barbara (Bates) Duffey.
He graduated from Grace Baptist Academy and worked as a carpenter and a driver. Timmy had his first successful kidney transplant in 1976. He loved his family and friends and was always the life of the party. Timmy enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and loved being outdoors. He loved going to Lake Sangchris to fish and boat and loved having backyard bonfires with his family. Timmy was musically inclined and played the guitar, banjo, and harmonica.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; paternal grandparents, Edward Duffey, and Kurt and Irene Bolin; maternal grandparents, Roy and Sarah Katherine Bates; and nephew, Luke Roy.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Duffey of Divernon; son, James Roy Withers of Denver, CO; daughter, Jessica “Jessie” (Jeremy) Kern of Riverton; grandchild, Reese Richardson of Riverton; brothers, Roy (Lisa) Duffey of Springfield, Ben (Penny) Duffey of Riverton, and David Duffey of Springfield; sister, Trinity (Bob) Flowers of Divernon; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; lifelong best friend, Darrell Delong of Springfield; and his beloved dogs, Daisy, Riley, and Scooby.
Private family ceremonies will be held with burial at Old Salem Cemetery officiated by Timmy’s cousin, Paul “Buster” Wiseman of Harvard Park Church.
