Paula Kay Allmon

Paula was born on December 29, 1942 in Oak Park, IL. to Lillian and Paul L. Smith. She later moved to Springfield with her family and proudly attended Feitshans High School.

Her greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her sweet nature, beautiful smile and devotion to her family were just a few of the reasons she was loved by everyone who knew her. She was quick to express her gratitude for the smallest kindness and made sure her family always knew how much they were loved. Paula will always be remembered for her kind spirit, her generosity, her endearing expressions and her faith in God. Despite many hardships in her life, she never complained about anything.

Paula was happily retired from the Sangamon County Circuit Clerks office where she worked for many years in the Records Department. Paula was very active in the Republican Party, volunteering for countless events including working at the Italian Tent at the Ethnic Festival for many years. She loved visiting her friends at Steak N Shake and with her Feitshans High School Classmates.

Paula is survived by her children, Tawnya (husband, John) Ruby, Todd (wife, Gretchen Dahl) Allmon and Trena (husband, Tommy McQuinn) Allmon; sister, Linda (husband, Barry) Hines, brother Paul Smith III; her grandchildren, Hanna and Jenna Ruby, Ashley (husband, Steve) Crobie, Kiley Allmon, Michael Bennett, Harley McQuinn, Destiny Doud and her great- grandchildren, Brynn Crobie and Matthew, Layla and Laken Bennett, her step grandchildren Todd and Troy Ruby and their families and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those who knew her best will miss her most.

Friends and family may visit at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 11, 2015 for a visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
