

Pauline Feller, 90, of Springfield, died at 11:10 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2004 at Capitol Care Center. Pauline was born February 28, 1914 in Rochester, the daughter of Russell and Mary Caruso Corsaro. She married Sidney Feller in 1939. Mrs. Feller was a homemaker. She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Chapter 195 and St. Peter and Paul’s Over 55 Club. She volunteered with her husband at various state offices, including the Genetics Section of the Department of Public Health, and also volunteered at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and at Kumler Neighborhood Ministries doing mailings and collating documents. Also, while working and volunteering at Bingo Parlors, Mrs. Feller was known as the “Popcorn Lady”. She volunteered for the Tuesday nursing home bingos which were held at the Senior Center and took care of the refreshments at the Wednesday Pinochle Round Robin games there. She was an excellent crotcheter and made many nice things, most of which she gave to many individuals. Mrs. Feller enjoyed every moment of her voluntary work days. Those were her good days. She also loved to feed the ducks at Washington Park and birds from her patio. She said “they have to eat also”. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Sam, Carmen, Chris and James Corsaro and one sister, Jenny Rudolph. She is survived by her husband, Sidney of Springfield; daughter: Saralyn (husband, Jack) Follis of Springfield; grandson: David (wife, Laura) Follis; great grandson: Matthew Follis of Hyde Park, NY; three sisters: Mary Jane (husband, Lester) Sandidge, Angie Corsaro-Rhoades both of Springfield, Theresa Hiller of AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind 2960 Stanton Ave., Springfield, IL 62703 or Kumler Neighborhood Ministries, 600 N. 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 or charity of the donor’s choice.
