

Peggy Jane Sweet, 75, of Springfield died at 4:35 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. Mrs. Sweet was born December 14, 1928 in Riverton, IL, the daughter of Edward T. and Lela Wilham Phillips. She married Donald Sweet on May 24, 1952 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield. Mrs. Sweet, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, was employed by the American Red Cross, HEMP Inc. and for the last ten years she had been employed with Catholic Charities. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Donald; sons: Tim Sweet of Springfield, Andy Sweet, Phd. of New Jersey and Philip (wife, Julie) Sweet of Neenah, WI; two brothers: Bill (wife, Kay) Phillips of Madison, WI and Thomas Phillips of Peoria, IL; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, officiating.
