Peter Ralph Bruno, 65, of Sherman, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009 at St. John's Hospital. Peter was born August 18, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Peter and Elfreda J. Moskelevski. Peter graduated from Griffin High School in 1961. He was a member of the Illinois National Guard for thirteen years. He was employed by the Secretary of State for thirty years. Peter was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Legion of Mary. He attended St. John Vianney Church in Sherman when he moved to Sherman. He also belonged to the NRA and was a huge John Wayne and Cardinals fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by many friends; two cousins; and his best friend, Tony the cat. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St, Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at St. John Vianney, 902 Saint John's Dr., Sherman, with Rev. Msgr. Carl Kemme, V.G., celebrant.
