Quinton L. Matthews, Sr., 34, 0f Springfield, died at 8:29 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at St. John's Hospital. Quinton was born February 5, 1970 in Chicago, the son of Lavel and Ruth Herring Matthews. He married Emily Harding on April 13, 2002 in Chicago. Quinton was employed as a cook for Applebee’s Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife: Emily of Springfield; two sons: Queinton, Jr, and Deshon Matthews both of Springfield; two brothers: David Herring and Andre Neal both of Chicago and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield with Rev.
