When I moved to Homestead Apartments, Alene was one of the first people who said “Hello” and welcomed me to my new residence. She was always so friendly and caring. A sweet lady, who loved her family so much.

My heart goes out to Alene's family. Alene and Jim were neighbors to us in Pawnee. Kathie and I went to school together. Great family.

I will never forget Aunt Alene. She is one of the first women I have thought of when I think of strong women. To raise up a huge family as she and Uncle Jim did, through thick and thin. And not a bad Apple in the bunch. To deal with the loss of two men who loved her, a son she loved so very dearly, children who are not supposed to go before you, to survive against all odds with the health issues. Strength. Faith. Love. I am so very proud to have known and been part of this beautiful, strong, loving woman's life. We will miss you, Aunt Alene. Give dad a hug for us.
