Richard E. Claycomb

He was born in Springfield, Dec. 1, 1946 the son of Eugene D. and Betty F. Baumgardne Claycomb. He married Joyce Collins July 31, 1965.

Dick was employed for 10 years at Fiat-Allis and for 14 years at the Illinois Department of Public Health where he was a printer/bookbinder retireing in 2000. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, was an avid NASCAR fan and was past president of the Rod and Reel Club.

He is survived by his wife Joyce; sons, R. Todd Claycomb(Cindy) and Scott E. Claycomb(Kari) both of Springfield; grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron and Bradley Claycomb all of Springfield and Marissa Claycomb of New Richland, Minn.; step grandchildren Austin, Calista and Christina Prichard all of Springfield; brother, Thomas T. Claycomb(Gay) of St. Peter; sisters, Joyce Szoke(Frank) of Sherman, Melody Lotz of St. Peter and Alice Claycomb of Brownstown; several aunts, uncles and loving nieces and nephews.

The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7:00pm and where services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday Sept. 19, 2007 with Frank Szoke officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
