Richard Joe Marlow, 74, of Chatham, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 25, 1937, the son of Judson Elsworth and Ruby Pearl Finley Marlow and raised in Salem, Illinois. On May 10, 1958, he married Judith Gail Prahl. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Marlow is survived by his wife, Judy; son Doug (Traci) Marlow of Chatham; daughter Carrie (Bob) Sexton of Manchester, Missouri; grandchildren Christopher Marlow and Lauren Marlow of Chatham; Andrew Sexton and William Sexton of Manchester, MO. Mr. Marlow retired as a manager at Neal Tire. He worked for Rochester and Goodell Engineering in Salem and was a surveyor for ten years. Mr. Marlow was a member and an elder of Chatham Christian Church. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Salem. He loved to fish and shared his appreciation of art by drawing and painting. Visitation: The family will greet friends Saturday, September 10, from 9:30-10:30am at Chatham Christian Church, 9897 South Main Street, Chatham. Funeral Service: will begin at the church at 10:30am with Pastor Rick Wenneborg officiating. Burial will follow at 3pm at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin, Illinois.
