Richard "Rick" C. Robinson

Richard "Rick" C. Robinson, 61, of Springfield, died at 6:05 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home after a dignified and courageous five year battle with cancer. Rick was born January 23, 1952 in Springfield, the son of Jerome and Shirley Woolf Robinson. He married Lorraine Owens on May 27, 1995 in Springfield. Rick was a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan and was a stockholder of the Green Bay Packers. He was a Friend of Bill for 23 years. Rick was very competitive in trivia competitions and was an avid reader of nonfiction works. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Robinson of Springfield; one son, Mathew Robinson of Springfield; one step-daughter, Suzanne Boring; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Darian Fernandes; and one brother, Jim (wife B.J.) Robinson of Dubai, UAE. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial ceremony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with his friend Jon Berg officiating.
