Rita K. Estill, 88, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her home.

She was born on April 16, 1930 in Spencer, IA, the daughter of the late Alton W. and Dorothy (Kilpatrick) Giddings. She married John R. Estill and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1998.

Rita was a homemaker and a member of Clementine Memorial Church in Springfield. Before she was a homemaker, she had worked for the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s office. She loved clothes and shopping. She was very proud when, at the age of 65, she received her driver’s license. Rita was a very kind, sweet lady who was loved by many.

She is survived by her son Kevin Estill of Springfield; 3 gandchildren, Heather K. Estill of Springfield, Abigail Estill of Columbia, MO, and Lindsey Fulscher of Sherman, IL; and a brother Robert Giddings of Hampton, IA.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 1 son Richard Estill.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield where visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 9 am until time of the funeral service at 10 am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield.

Memorials may be made to the A.P.L. (Animal Protective League), 1001 Taintor Rd, Springfield, IL 62702.

Rita was a great lady with a big heart and good Mother and Grandmother. She didn't know a stranger. For many years her Church was her salvation.
