Rita Rose Farley, 80, of Springfield, died at 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at St. John's Hospital. Rita was born May 26, 1929 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Marie Luetemeyer Schuckhardt. She married Frank Farley on September 25, 1948 in Springfield at St. Joseph Church. Rita was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and homemaker and her greatest pride was having raised such wonderful children. Rita was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and never missed a Mass. She enjoyed painting, interior decorating and traveling, especially to Arizona and Hawaii. She was also a life member of the VFW ladies' auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vickie Lynn; brother, Bill Schuckhardt; and sister, Angela Gaio. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Frank Farley of Springfield; son, Frank Farley, III of El Paso, TX; daughter, Bonnie K. (husband, Dave) Garrison of Coatsville, MO; two grandchildren, Jillian Honesto of El Paso, TX and Larry Brown of Venus, FL; two stepgrandchildren, Marisa Lewis of Lebanon, MO and David Garrison of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Alise; three step-great-grandchildren; and a few nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Charles Hart officiating.
