She was born on February 23, 1928 in Dashev, Ukraine, the daughter of the late Joseph and Golda (Zlotnikov) Lerman. She married Abraham Goldfine on July 6, 1952 in Kiev, Ukraine and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1984.
She received her Master’s degree from Kiev Technological Institute in 1952 and worked as a mechanical engineer designer. She was a member of Temple B’rith Sholom. She loved dearly and helped raise her grandsons. As a young girl of 14, she survived World War II after being separated from her parents. She travelled and searched for 1 year before she found them.
She is survived by her daughter Alla (husband David) Brodsky of Springfield; 2 grandsons, Eliot (wife Abigail) Brodsky and Timothy (fiancé Elina Carpenter) Brodsky; 2 great-granddaughters, Ruby and Edith Brodsky; a sister Betty (husband Alexander) Kozievsky; a niece Julia (husband Alex) Zavelsky and their daughters Alice and Leeza.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
