Robert "Bob" Gene VanderHeiden

Robert �Bob� Gene VanderHeiden, 79, of Chatham, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Mr. VanderHeiden is survived by his wife, Margaret �Peg�, of 44 years; daughter Stacey Lynn (Izzet �Ike�) VanderHeiden G�ney of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Nathaniel, Zachary, Benjamin and Rachel G�ney, all of Texas; sister Beverly (Don) Gingery of Roseburg, OR; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob retired in 1987 after 30 years as a salesman for Westinghouse Electric Company. A member of the NRA, he enjoyed bird hunting, specifically pheasant and quail. He loved to golf and watch boxing. Bob also worked on antique clocks as the proprietor of Van�s Clock Repair. He was a handy man �savant�, an individual who could fix anything and enjoyed doing so. Visitation: 11AM, Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Funeral service follows at noon, Saturday, December 3, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, with Pastor Gary Gilley, Southern View Chapel, officiating. Burial will be at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
