He was born on January 3, 1939, in Springfield, IL, the son of Andrew and Theresa (Kampfl) Lascody. Robert married Judith Allmon on July 15, 1961, in Springfield.
Robert graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Robert went on to work as an analyst with Franklin Life insurance for 37 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Deer Park Campground. Robert enjoyed camping, canoeing, rebuilding cars and homes, and attending lots of races.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Andrew “Andy” Lascody; and sisters, Teresa Bisby, Dorothy Cowden, Marge Moore, and Eileen Aquila.
Robert is survived by his wife, Judith Lascody of Springfield; son, Robert (Lisa) Lascody, Jr. of Rochester; daughter, Lori (companion, Dave Rapps) Piper of Springfield; grandchildren, James “Randy” (Delaney) Piper, Devon (Danielle) Piper, Tori (Travis) Piper, and Ashley (companion, Sergio Chavez) Lascody; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Riley Jo, and James Piper, Denver Lascody, Sophia Lascody-Chavez, and Finley and Haven Piper; sister, Norma Edwards; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, followed by the ceremony at 12:30 p.m. with Very Rev. Joseph Molloy officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with military honors provided.
