

Bobby was born June 19, 1964 in Springfield, the son of Elmer and Judith Forgas Riech.
Bobby attended Griffin High School for two years and then graduated from Lanphier High School. He went on to attend Springfield Junior College before beginning his third year at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Bobby was a 30-year veteran of Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado, and a lifelong member of the NRA. He enjoyed fishing and hunting prior to his diving accident, and loved taking care of the neighborhood birds and squirrels. Bobby was deeply rooted in his Christian faith and was well-known for generously sharing his warm smile.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Susan Riech; and nephew, Nick Riech.
He is survived by his father, Elmer Riech of Springfield; siblings, Paul Riech of Springfield, John (Cheryl) Riech of St. Elmo, and Tom (Dena) Riech of Springfield; step-mother, Sandra Riech of TX; aunt and uncle, Delores (Chester) Foley; nieces and nephews, Michael, Brandon, Andy, Megan, and Sarah Riech, and Nikole Yates; and two great-nieces, Lakyn and Grace.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. Cabrini Church, 1020 N. Milton Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Scott Thelander, SJC, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
