Robert William Shaver died on March 21, 2014, surrounded by his family. Robert was born in Galesburg, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Robert Shaver. He grew up in Champaign, IL, and was a fourth generation graduate of the University of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister, Janet L. Shaver. Robert served in the 183rd Air National Guard. He retired from GTE and took the position as president of First State Bank, later to become Illini Bank, where he served on the board. He was one of the founders and Vice President of Midland Community Bank of Kincaid. Robert was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Island Bay Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailing, traveling and hunting. He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Nancy Noll Shaver; children, Susan S. Kehoe (Michael) of Virginia, Robert William Shaver, Jr. of Springfield, and Jon N. Shaver (Theresa) of Colorado, and five grandchildren. Graveside Ceremony: 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
