Robert "Bob" D. Sheppard, 62, of Franklin, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Bob was born March 17, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Ruth Marie Sheppard. Bob graduated from Franklin High School in 1967 and proudly served his country in Vietnam in the Marine Corps earning the Purple Heart. He worked as a postal carrier for over 40 years and was known for his great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore "Ted" Sheppard. He is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Rae Hearin of Palmyra; mother Ruth Marie Bess of New Berlin; sister, Frances A. (husband, Norman) Casson of New Berlin; brother, Charles Leo Kissick of Alexander; several aunts and uncles; two nieces, two nephews; three great-nieces, one great-nephew and several cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Berlin Christian Church, 2580 S. Wake Rd., New Berlin with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating.
