Rogelio Martinez Gotanco, 69, of Springfield, died at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at his home. Rogelio was born July 4, 1945 in Sibuyan, Philippines, the son of Rufino and Patria Martinez Gotanco. Rogelio received his bachelor's degree from the University of Santo Tomas and was active in the Central Illinois Philippine American Society, as well as the Eucharistic Adoration at Church of the Little Flower. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by three brothers, Reynaldo (wife, Rachel) Gotanco of Springfield, Christopher Gotanco and Constancio (wife, Mila) Gotanco, all of Manila, Philippines; two sisters, Hati (husband, Joe) Uy of Springfield and Rosario (husband, Jun) Aguirre of Plainfield; four nieces and eight nephews; and five great-nephews and three great- nieces. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield, with Rev. John Nolan celebrant. Burial will be in the Philippines.
