Roger Davis

Roger D. Davis, 73, of Springfield, passed away on May 11, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on May 11, 1953, in Springfield to James Raymond Davis and Pauline Rodgers. Roger married Linda S. Benedict on May 6, 1972, in Springfield, and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2023.

Mr. Davis is survived by two children: Dawn (husband Shane) Sarginson and Roger (wife Jamie) Davis Jr., both of Sherman, IL., five grandchildren: Allison and Logan (fiance Bella) Sarginson, Roger III, Emma, and Ryan Davis, one brother Chuck Davis of Springfield and two sister-in-laws and one brother-in law: Norma Branner and Nancy (Stan) Buecker and Gene Benedict. He was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Roger was a union sheet metal worker for seventeen years before starting R.D. Davis Heating and Air in 1992. He ran the heating and air business with his wife, Linda, and they also owned several rental properties. Roger also taught several family members the heating and air trade. He enjoyed teaching others and was a good mentor.

Roger loved John Wayne, Johnny Cash, and the Beach Boys. He took pleasure in playing his guitar while his kids and grandkids sang with him. He valued his family and loved Sunday night dinners. Roger enjoyed watching westerns and Fox News. He loved traveling and took his family on vacations to Tennessee; he enjoyed cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean, and he just returned from a trip to Arkansas in 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Old Salem Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Wednesday at Bisch and Son.

Following the graveside service, the family will gather with friends and family from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at the Blue Ridge Club, 411 E Lake Shore Drive, Springfield, IL.
