He was born in Springfield on November 23, 1946, the son of Russell and Mary (VanLandingham) Hinrichs.
Roger attended Greenview Community Schools. He then worked for Hinrichs Chevrolet – Greenview while in college through 1995. Roger also proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Lodge #653 in Greenview as a freemason, an Ansar Shriner, as well as a Jester. He enjoyed sports and playing card games, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and poker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger is survived by his sister, Vanna (Jack) Sandhaas; niece, Michelle (Harper) Roehm; nephew, Mark (Lisa) Claypool; and grand-nieces, Kaitlyn Claypool and Alexandra Roehm.
Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Oak Ridge Cemetery at the Mausoleum, 1441 Monument Ave, Springfield, IL 62702 (South Gate entrance), with Celebrant Judy Woerner.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
