He was born June 16, 1938 in Springfield to the late Howard and Dorothy Ellett. He was a 1956 graduate of Meredosia- Chambersburg High School. He retired from farming with his father in 1981. He enjoyed fishing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Illinois basketball and football.
He is survived by one brother, Don Ellett of Springfield and three sisters, Vicky Ellett and Sharon Berry both of Springfield and Judy Reeves of Sherman. He also leaves three nephews, Troy (Rhonda) Berry and Jeff Berry both of Springfield and Mike (Denise) Berry of Jacksonville.
He was a very kind and honest person who will be remembered for his great smile.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday Jan. 27, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Park with Rev. Kenny Kidd officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (www.boardman-Smith.net).
