

She was born August 12, 1930 in Buffalo, MO, the daughter of Walter V. and Oma E. (Cowan) Baker. Her family soon moved to Mt. Pulaski, IL where she was raised. She married Jack Irving on April 22, 1951 at First Christian Church in Springfield.
Mrs. Irving worked for the State of Illinois in various departments for many years until retirement in 1998. She was a member of Southside Christian Church. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Nick (Sherry) Irving of Glenarm, Scott Irving of Peoria, Todd (Kristen) Irving of Springfield, Jeff (Sue) Irving of Aurora, CO, and Lori Keeney of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Brian, Tina, Lisa, Alec, Evan, Ean, Erik, and Jason; and two sisters, Joyce (Jack) Scroggins and Freda McGee both of Mt. Pulaski.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael Keeney and three brothers, Bertrum, James and Don Baker.
Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 from 4 to 6 PM at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 10 AM at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Chitwood will officiate.
