Rose M. Pierce

She was born in Springfield, May 23, 1927 the daughter of Ora G. and Henrietta Heineman Weakley. She married John H. Pierce Sr. in Springfield, February 23, 1946 and he preceded her in death March 31, 1988. Rose was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary and 3 brothers; Ronald, Owen, and Thomas Weakley.

Rose worked for Memorial Medical Center, and then retired in 1992 from AARP after several years of service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, the D.A.V. auxiliary and the V.F.W. auxiliary, Post 755.

She is survived by her children; Kay (Jack) Downs, Judy (Jerry) Wainman, John “Jack” (Teresa) Pierce Jr., Kevin (Alesia) Pierce, Frank (Kathe) Pierce all of Springfield, and Charles “Chuck” (Loretta) Pierce of Oklahoma City, OK. She has 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; John Weakley of Key West, FL., and Robert (Linda) Weakley of Springfield. There are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen Springfield, where the family will receive friends from 4 pm Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 until time of funeral services at 6 pm Thursday. Father Jeffery Grant will officiate. Burial will be private in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
