

Rose Saladino, 86, of Springfield, died at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Auburn Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Rose was born June 19, 1924 in Springfield, the daughter of Carlo and Myrtle Beck Evans Campo. She married Joseph Saladino and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1986. Rose was primarily a homemaker who volunteered her time at the food bank. She was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was also a member of AARP and the Cathedral Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and taking trips with her cousins. Rose also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and the Illini. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frank J. and D.A. Campo. Rose is survived by her son, Sam J. (wife, Stephanie) Saladino of Springfield; daughter, Francee (husband, Ed) Brown of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jeff (wife, Megan) and Jason (wife, Kate) Brown and Heather and Joey Saladino; two great-grandchildren, Aaden and Henley Brown; two sisters, Carrie Dinora of Springfield and Mary Merritt of Kokomo, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 9:00 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Peter Harman officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Home Services, 720 N.
