Rosemary "Sunny" Meyer

Rosemary “Sunny” Meyer, 88, of Lincoln, formerly of Petersburg and Springfield, passed away on May 23, 2015 at Symphony of Lincoln Nursing Care. Sunny was born on November 19, 1926, in Chicago. The daughter of the late John and Ida (Genest) Reed. Sunny was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald H. Meyer.

Sunny had a deep love for animals, she would take in and save many stray animals over the years. She also enjoyed growing all kinds of flowers and vegetables in her gardens, and also enjoyed and was a very talented cook.

Sunny is survived by her children: William Honn, of Petersburg, IL, Michael Honn of Laie, Hawaii, Donald Henry (Tori) Meyer of Havelock, NC, and Anthony (Deborah) Meyer of Lincoln, IL, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St. Springfield, IL 62703, where a memorial service officiated by Rev. Vaughn Beeman will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 2 p.m.
