Russell Earl Sybert, 74, of Greenview, passed away peacefully at 7:09am, Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center. He was born January 2, 1943 in Springfield to the late Leslie Leo and Irene Elizabeth Myer Sybert. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Claussen and nephew Larry G. Eddings. He was a farmhand in the Greenview area for many years. Russ enjoyed planting flowers and vegetable gardens and hoped that he would continue his passion in the gardens of Heaven! He was a very loving man and liked to meet new and interesting people. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Beth Ann (James) Huston of Mishawaka, IN; sisters Ellen Haynes of Decatur, Wanda (Butch) Nichols of Athens, and Patricia (Bernard) Schisler of Greenview; brother, Richard Lee (Ann) Sybert of Athens; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation rites were accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham before the service. Graveside services will be held at 10am, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Russells end of life expenses. Staab Polk Memorial Home 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham, IL, 62629, is serving Russells family.
