Ruth Evelyn Campbell

She was born June 7, 1914 in Pinckneyville the daughter of George and Annie Hester Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Cassie Davis and Lucille Campbell and a brother, Dempsey Campbell.

Miss Campbell was a 1946 graduate of Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a private duty Registered Nurse and as an Industrial Nurse for Famous-Barr and Mercantile Bank in St. Louis. She was a member of Parkway Christian Church and the Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She loved her family, painting, flower gardening, handwork and all animals especially her dogs.

She is survived by a nephew, James (wife, Margaret) Davis of Springfield and a niece, Dorothy(husband, Danny) Piekarski of South Bend, IN.; great nephews, Mark Davis, Bradley(companion, Candy) Davis and Terry(wife, Terry) Davis and a great great niece Lindsay Claire Davis and several cousins.

Friends may call Monday Nov. 26, 2007 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel from 5:00pm until the time of services there at 7:00pm with Rev. Mark Gifford officiating. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday Nov. 27, 2007 at Holts Prairie Cemetery near Pinckneyville.
