Sandy was born on March 2, 1945, in Springfield, the daughter of Virginia M. (Bergen) Brooke.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Sangamon State University and worked as an Adjudicator for the Illinois Department of Social Security Disability for over 30 years. Sandy was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandkids and cheered them on over the years at their many ball games. Sandy enjoyed reading and playing the piano.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Col. Lawrence Brooke.
Sandy is survived by her mother, Virginia Brooke; daughter, Dawn (David) Bruno; sons, Damon Leckrone and John Crubaugh; and grandchildren, Alexander and Kelsey Bruno, all of Springfield.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
