

Scott Phillips, 52, of Springfield, died at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his residence. Scott was born December 4, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Richard and Karen Smith Phillips. Scott owned and operated Scotty's Concrete as a concrete finisher. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs fan. He was a member of Whitetail Unlimited and also enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Phillips; brother, Brian Phillips; grandparents; two aunts, JoAnn Charles and Sandy Connor; and uncle, Harold Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Phillips of Springfield; son, Dustin Kluckman of Springfield; fianc, Christine "Cricket" Homer of Springfield; mother, Karen Phillips of Springfield; brother, Toby Phillips of Tamms, IL; ex-wife, Carol; his pets Sadie, Isabella and Lilly; also his best friend and hunting buddy John Robinson and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 12:00 until the time of the ceremony at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Calvin Miller officiating.
