Shane A. Ray

He was born June 26, 1977 in Springfield, the son of Jackie Ray and Linda J. Wells.

Shane worked as a bricklayer for Young Masonry in Springfield. He also worked as a drywaller for many years and belonged to Service Dogs of America.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Jackie E. and Iona Ray of Springfield,, his mother and step-father, Linda J. and Gordon Wells of Tallula, IL, children, Maddie and Kali Ray of Pleasant Plains, and Gage Roberts of Sherman, IL, his companion, Christy Roberts of Sherman, IL, 2 brothers, Dustin Ray and Taylor Wells, 2 sisters, Ashley Ray and Iona “Jessica” Ray. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Shane will be missed by the numerous friends he gained throughout his lifetime as a result of his outgoing personality, which never allowed him to meet a stranger.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 1 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Shane’s Children’s Educational Fund.
