

Sharon Ann Bourland, 66, of Springfield, died at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. John's Hospice. Sharon was born April 21, 1950 in Springfield, the daughter of Albert and Betty J. (McGann) Nyilas. She married David Bourland on February 4, 1983 in Springfield. Sharon graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1968. She was employed with SBC/Ameritech until her retirement after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing. Her greatest joy was watching her grandson grow up and spending time with him playing golf and watching him play baseball. Sharon was an amazing role model throughout her life. She showed great courage and strength that will serve as an example to many that loved her. Sharon will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Nyilas and two uncles, Bob and Lou Schantz. She is survived by her husband, David of Springfield; two daughters, Amy Mizeur of Springfield and Tiffany Power of Hoover, AL; grandson, Carter Mizeur; mother, Betty J. McGann of Springfield; sister, Dianne Cycholl of Springfield; niece, Kimberly (husband, John) Bartello; and nephew, Douglas (wife, Carie) Cycholl. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Charlie Hart, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
