Sharon Lee Knox

She was born on August 28, 1954, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Charles M. and Carol (Lindquist) Shipman. Sharon married Kim P. Knox on December 7, 1974, in Springfield. He preceded her in death, on April 24, 1990.

Sharon graduated from Springfield High School in 1972. She was an artist and a homemaker who loved a house full of kids and raised many. Sharon was a member of SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, baking and cooking, painting, the outdoors, a good party, and rock ‘n roll.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Kaitlyn Knox and Laura (Justin Fabish) Knox, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Quinlee and Aria Fabish; sister, Beth (Jeff) Butler of Athens; and nieces, Shelby and Ashleigh.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. W., Springfield. Burial will follow at Rochester Township Cemetery, with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating.
