Shawn David Sauer, 23, of Springfield, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 of heart failure at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Shawn was born May 24, 1980 in Springfield the son of John E. Sauer Jr. and Cindy Pickford. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Pickford, Sr. He is survived by mother: Cindy L. (husband, Tom) Marcy of Riverton; father: John E. (wife, Lynn) Sauer, Jr. of Springfield; one sister: Stacy (husband, Rob) Loyd of Springfield; one brother: Michael J. (wife, Daina) Sauer of Springfield; one stepbrother: Bryan T. Marcy of Athens; grandparents: Sally Pickford, Neva Sauer both of Springfield, John E. Sauer, Sr. of Divernon; one nephew; two nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
