She was born on January 1, 1930, the daughter of George T. and Tressie (Anderson) Solomon. Shirley married the love of her life, Lester Lloyd Harvill Jr. in 1948.
She was loved dearly by her family and friends. Her smile and laughter were infectious. She loved watching the Chicago Cubs.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings: two brothers, Robert and George E Solomon; and three sisters, Dorothy Rice, Eleanor Schroll, and Ellen Osborne.
Shirley is survived by her children; Kenneth (Joyce) Harvill of Alabama, Jo Ann (Michael Costello) Stuches of Springfield, Carolyn (Pat) Stolleis of Florida, Shirley (Steve) Lindsey of Florida, Lester (Deborah) Harvill III of Springfield, and Vanla (David) Moriconi of Chatham. She has several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. There are also several nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.
