On Saturday, December 18, 2021, Shirley Ann rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings. She spent her final day on Earth preparing for Christmas, her favorite time of the year. She had a great day of shopping and wrapping gifts for her family. She took a break and laid down to take her final breathe. She was 67 years old.
Shirley was generous to a fault and didn’t know a stranger. She always had a kind word and smile to share. She enjoyed arts & crafts, flower gardening, water therapy, reading her Bible, and spending time with her friends, family, and caregiver, Rochelle.
Shirley began her career with School District 186 many years ago. The principal at her kid’s elementary school made an announcement over the intercom asking for lunchroom volunteers. Shirley was eager to help and enjoyed the friendships that she made along the way. She formed a lifelong friendship with the Principal Mrs. Edna Shanklin. Shirley worked more than 20 years with the school district.
Shirley was born on June 29, 1954, in Springfield, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Huffman) Sirtout. She recently married her best friend, Michael Lusk on June 21, 2021, in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Tony Sirtout, John Sirtout and Phil Sisti.
She is survived by her husband Michael Lusk, children, Carla Seifert and Thomas Clement, former husband Thomas Clement, two siblings, Tom Sirtout and David Sirtout, two brother in-laws Patrick Lusk and David Lusk, and sister-in-law Robin (John) Lusk, grandchildren Austin Burger, Ty Seifert, Lane Seifert, Ryan Wicks and Eden Clement, and great grandchild, Kaiser Wicks.
Out of abundance of caution due to the pandemic, services for Shirley will be private for family and close friends. Pastor Bennie Fisher will officiate and burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
