Shirley Louise Satterlee

Shirley was born on July 21, 1947, in Litchfield, the daughter of William H. and Opal L. Wilson Hefley. She married Gary L. Satterlee on September 5, 1965, in Litchfield. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2015.

Shirley was a 1965 graduate of Litchfield High School. She was a past president of the American Legion #32 Ladies Auxillary. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Railroad Maintenance Industrial Health and Welfare Industries. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Betty Mae Eddington, Mary Alice Hefley, and Janel Jones.

Shirley is survived by three sons, Scott (Lori) Satterlee of Murphysboro, John A. (Teresa) Satterlee of Springfield, and Brian Satterlee of O’Fallon; one daughter, Sandi (Frank) Staley of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Jessica and Branden (Jessie) Satterlee, Shelby (Matt) Ahlfield, Nicholas, Michael (Gracie), Morgan, and Matthew Satterlee; four great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Thomas Satterlee and Bennett and Natalie Ahlfield; nine siblings, Linda (Hansil) Hartle of MO, Penny (Chris) Brown of Girard, Billie Jean Cornell of Harrisburg, Tammy Jenkins of AZ, Kenneth Hefley of Beardstown, Dorothy Hendricker of Beardstown, Jack (Madeline) Hefley of Beardstown, and Terry (Kim) Hefley of Bath; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her favorite companion, Paco.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield with Greg Stafford- Chaplain Springfield Memorial Hospital officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
