Shirley T. Van Den Bossche-Kochman

Shirley T. VanDenBossche-Kochman, 83, of O’Fallon, Illinois, formerly of Springfield, passed away on May 11, 2019 at Liberty Village Nursing Home in Maryville, Illinois. She was born on January 16, 1936 in Louisville, KY., to James Scott and Cora Curry Kemp. Shirley married John J. VanDenBossche and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1991. She then married Charles R. Kochman and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2013. Shirley is survived by her children: Brenda (James) Cole of Claremore, Oklahoma, John Michael VanDenBossche of Granite City, Danny J. (Cyndi) VanDenBossche of O’Fallon, Tamara J. (Martin) McLaughlin and Kimberly VanDenBossche both of Springfield, nineteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren several great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, one sister Rosie Smith and one brother Bob Kemp. She was preceded in death by one son Mark A. VanDenBossche, one grandchild Todd A. Cole, one sister and two brothers. Mrs. VanDenBossche-Kochman enjoyed singing and she was a member of the House of Prayer Apolostolic Church. Shirley was a wonderful cook and specifically enjoyed cooking for her extended family. A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday May 16, 2019 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
