

He was born on June 30, 1953, in Granite City, the son of Harry Sr. and Juanita Walk Hillman. Skip married Lisa Pierce on July 21, 1989, in Springfield.
Skip graduated from Granite City High School in 1971. He managed Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center. Skip played hockey for the Springfield Kings in the Continental and All-American Hockey Leagues from 1974-1989 and enjoyed coaching and supporting his son’s baseball teams. He was a member of Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Ron and Gloria Pierce, who he looked to as his own parents; and dog, Howard.
Skip is survived by his wife, Lisa Hillman; son, Jeff Hillman; beloved dog, Dallas; brothers-in-law, Keith (wife, Kathy) Pierce, Mike (wife, Deb) Pierce, and Doug Pierce; sisters-in-law, Karen Hampton and Rona (husband, Mike) Pierce-Dodd; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
