Stella Bialowas, 81, of Springfield, formerly of Streator, IL , passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Stella was born in Konczaki Nowe, Poland on October 15, 1930, the daughter of Tadeusz and Kornela (Rogowska) Michalski. She married Bruno Bialowas on June 1, 1952, they immigrated to America from Poland in 1964, where they settled in Streator. She worked at Owens-Illinois for 22 years until she retired in 1992. Stella enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She was very proud of her Polish heritage, a member of the Polish National Alliance, St. Casmir Parish in Streator IL, and Blessed Sacrament Parish here in Springfield. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bruno of Springfield, her two sons; Chet (Maggie) Bilows of Springfield, Joe (Diane) Bialowas of Hudson IL, two grandsons; Adam and Andy Bilows, step-grandchildren; BreAnne and Bradley Nott, two sisters Helena (Jan) Kinach and Stefania Cymbala both of Poland, and brother, Wladyslaw Michalski of New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons at infancy, and an infant granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Bisch Funeral Home, 2931 S Koke Mill Rd, Springfield, IL 62711. With visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield. Rev. Peter Harmon will conduct the services.
