Susan J. Isringhausen

Susan was born on July 4, 1958, in Champaign, Illinois, to Kenneth and Betty (Gregory) Johnson. She married the love of her life, Lee Robert "Rob" Isringhausen, in 1977, who preceded her in death in 2006. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and generosity.

Sue was a graduate of Champaign Central High School. After high school and following her marriage to Rob, she made Springfield her home. Sue was instrumental in building Isringhausen Imports alongside Rob after they founded the business in 1981. In the early years, the two of them could often be found driving across the country together to pick up and deliver vehicles, laying the foundation for what would become a respected family business. Those early days were not always easy, and there were times when Sue and Rob made significant personal sacrifices to ensure their employees were taken care of. As time went on, their employees became friends who then turned into family. Their unwavering work ethic, deep faith, generosity, and commitment to the people who helped build their dream became the cornerstone of Isringhausen Imports and the enduring legacy they created together.

Above all else, Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family. In 2013, she embraced her favorite title—"Gigi”. There was nothing she loved more than her grandchildren. Whether sitting in the stands or cheering from the sidelines, Gigi rarely missed a game, recital, or special moment. Her love was steadfast, enthusiastic, and unconditional.

Sue's happy place was the beach on Marco Island. More than 40 years ago, she and Rob began making memories there, and the island soon became a beloved second home. They loved boating together and sharing their special place with those they loved. Whether enjoying a sunset on the beach or dining outdoors while admiring God's beautiful creation, Marco Island remained a place where Sue found peace, joy, and created some of her family's most treasured memories.

A woman of deep faith, Sue's life reflected Christ's love through quiet acts of service, compassion, and generosity. She faithfully worshipped at Grace Bible Chapel, Springfield Bible Church, and Calvary Temple throughout her life. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club, and her Bible Study was one of the most meaningful parts of her life. The friendships she formed through her faith were a constant source of encouragement, and she treasured the opportunity to grow in God's Word alongside other women. She also devoted countless hours to serving her community, including volunteering with Calvary Academy, Helping Hands of Springfield and serving as one of the original committee members of Denim & Diamonds. The annual fundraiser was close to her heart long before breast cancer touched her own life. Inspired by Sue's passion for the cause, Isringhausen Imports has proudly supported Denim & Diamonds for many years.

Those who knew Sue often described her as an "earth angel," and it was easy to understand why. She had a remarkable gift for making every person feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved. She gave generously of her time, her heart, and herself, always putting others before her own needs.

In 2021, Sue met C J Saladino, who became her beloved partner. Later that year, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout her journey, C J remained faithfully by her side. Their relationship was a blessing to Sue and to her family who will always be grateful for the love and exceptional care he gave her.

She faced every challenge with remarkable courage, unwavering grace, and an unshakable faith in God's plan. While she dearly loved this life, she looked forward with peace and confidence to her eternal home with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Betty Johnson; and her beloved husband, Rob.

Sue is lovingly remembered by her children, Luke (Abigail) Isringhausen, Abigail Isringhausen Nudo, John Tyler Isringhausen, Josef (Brooke) Isringhausen, and Isaac Isringhausen; son-in-law, Alex Nudo; her cherished grandchildren, Levi, Ben, Bianca, Ivy, Vinny, Maddox, Palmer, and Robbie; her bonus sons, Tonyo Thompson and John (Lena) Young, along with their children, John and Jordan Young; her significant other, C J Saladino; and countless extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever changed by her kindness and love.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Cherry Hills Church, 2125 Woodside Rd., Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Cherry Hills Church with Pastor Johnnie Standard, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow at Farmingdale Cemetery.

Sue radiated warmth, joy, and light everywhere she went. In honor of the vibrant way she lived and loved, the family kindly invites those attending her services to wear pops of pink or other bright colors as a celebration of the beautiful life she shared with all of us.
