Dear Suzanne,
 
Brian and I are so bummed that the weather is preventing us from being there today to celebrate your life. But we are so grateful we were able to be there with you at your dad's celebration.

These last few weeks I've been remembering lots of fun times we had.  This photo is from the Illinois State Fair where we walked around for at least an hour trying to find you a healthier choice  for dinner.  I don't think you had been to the fair in awhile. LOL.

I will always be thankful that when I was a freshman at LLCC starting my first job at Cambridge Inn, you and Sarah befriended me.  Back then I was a little lost and you guys took me in.
You all insisted that I follow you both to Western Illinois where you arranged that I could room with Julie (bless her soul too) so I could be in the same dorm and across the hall from Sarah.  I was so nervous about being there and you guys made it feel so right.  
Remember all the scheduling we did so we could watch  our soap operas: Erica & Luke and Laura. Oh my!!

Then one Friday night, you said let's go get a beer at Harper's. You were standing next to me when this boy (Brian) walked up to us and said hi to me!!!  That  is the day that changed my life and you were there.

You have always been a good friend to Brian and I especially in the beginning when not everyone thought he was a good choice.

Thank you for your dedication to your studies.  I doubt I would have gotten on the Dean's List if I hadn't been roommates with you. We turned the TV off every weeknight to study except for Wednesdays when we would watch Dynasty.  You would keep studying unless something crazy was happening and run out to see why we were being so loud.

After college you visited us in Chicago.  We played the most hilarious game of Monopoly with Brian's step dad who was a real estate investor.  You were not happy about losing!!

I could go on and on...

Suzanne was brilliant.  All of her life a straight A Student, on dean’s lists and honor roles.  I remember meeting Suzanne, when she was an engineer at McDonald Douglas in St. Louis.  Most people only know her from working at the state, but that girl was a champion.  She had a light and a spark in her personality.  I can still hear her laugh.   Suzanne was an avid Texas Holdem’ player which she enjoyed for many years.  She would come back to Springfield, in the early years, and we went as a group to Lincolnfest.  May her candle burn bright in the heavens and, God willing, we will see hints of her in nature, birds and other furry friends. Rest in peace, dear Suzanne.  You were loved.

Suzanne, my friend, I’m deeply grieved at your passing. Our friendship was sometimes challenging, but ultimately has left a lasting impression on my life.  You will remain in my thoughts and prayers—especially every time I pass mile marker #88 on I-55 South.
There’s a romantic comedy coming out this spring, and I can’t help but think that you would have enjoyed it. When it releases, I’ll go to Outback for dinner and then see the movie in your honor.

I was very saddened to hear of Suzanne’s passing. She was a kind, intelligent and fair minded person.. Rest in peace Suzanne.

Dearest Suzanne - I will always be grateful for your support with surviving the COVID lockdown.  I pray that you meet up with Grace and Bill in Heaven.  May you rest in peace while basking in God’s glory.  Iris

You have not been far from my mind at all this week, Suzanne. I’m so sorry you left this earth far too young. You were a good person who cared about animals. You were fiercely loyal and always honest. Practical, intelligent, hard-working and adventurous. I hope you will find some well-deserved peace and relaxation in this next chapter of your journey. Be well, my friend; I will continue to think of you often.
