Tedd W. Ward, Sr., 84, of Springfield, died at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his home. Tedd was born August 31, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, the son to Jack and Geraldine Weidner Ward. He married Jeanne Claire Brewster on April 13, 1957 at a Society of Friends; she preceded him in death on January 6, 2000. Tedd was a graduate of George School, went on to achieve an MA from Temple University and an MBA from New York University. He worked until 1971 in the private sector in Iowa and Minnesota, then dedicated his talents to the State of Illinois working in an, "alphabet soup," of financial agencies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed cigars, fine wine, and golf. His passion was little theater, where he met the true love of his life, Jeanne in the production of Noah's Ark. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and both brothers, Jackie and Suplee. He is survived by two sons, Grant Ward of Springfield and Tedd Ward, Jr. of Petersburg. In accordance with Tedd's wishes, his remains went on to further medical knowledge (anatomical research).
