Teresa M. Jones

Teresa M. Jones, 78, of Springfield, died at 9:10 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital, Hospice Unit. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Albert K. and Katherine Casey Holmes. She married Darrell Vivan Jones on June 6, 1953; he preceded her in death on April 15, 1993. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1947 and she worked as a service assistant for Illinois Bell retiring in 1988 after thirty-six years of service. She also served as a volunteer for Disabled American Veterans. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Carl Holmes, Raymond Holmes, John Holmes and Richard Holmes and three sisters: Helen Curren, Stella Woodson and Catherine Hibbs. She is survived by three sons: Kevin C. (companion, Maggie Flynn) Jones of Springfield, Darrell M. (wife, Beth) Jones of New Berlin and James K. (companion, Debbie Reynolds) Jones of Sherman and one daughter Mary Teresa (husband, Bob) Reed of Springfield; four grandchildren: Dara (husband, Bob) Bose, Daina Jones, Sara Carpenter and Darren Jones; three great-grandchildren: Breanna Jones, N’Kyla Rainey and Ryan Bose; one brother: Albert Holmes of Springfield and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 on at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Graveside Ceremonies will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at St. Augustine Cemetery in Ashland with, Rev. Msgr. Patrick J. Wright. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family of Teresa M.
