

Terry B. Brelje, Ph.D., 67, of Springfield, died at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at his home. Dr. Brelje was born on May 5, 1938 in Chester, IL the son of Gerhard and Virginia Young Brelje. He married Martha Brose on September 4, 1964 in Indianapolis, IN; she preceded him in death in 1984. Dr. Brelje had worked for 30 years as a Psychologist with the State of Illinois Department of Mental Health and several years for Gateway Foundation. He also had his own private practice. He was on the Board of Directors at Hope School and was a member of the Sangamo Club. He was also preceded in death by his father. He is survived by sons: Matthew Brelje and Mark (wife, Marcy) Brelje both of Chicago; grandson: Benjamin Brelje; mother: Virginia Brelje of Chester; sister: Linda (husband, James) Sympson of Chester, IL and nephew: Steven. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2006 at First United Methodist Church, 501 E. Capitol, Springfield with Dr. Roger Rominger officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
