
Thaddeus J. Sullivan, 68, of Mesquite, NV, formerly of Springfield, died at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah after a brief struggle with cancer. Thad was born on July 16, 1938 in Springfield, the son of Thomas Handy and Ottilie Reilly Sullivan. He graduated in 1956 from Cathedral Boys High School and from Springfield Junior College. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church while residing in Springfield. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran stationed in Barstow, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Thomas and Kevin Sullivan. He is survived by one brother, Richard Sullivan of Springfield and one sister, Judie (husband, James) Sullivan Haas of Waverly, PA; nine nieces and nephews and six grand nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. A prayer service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. by Father Tony Schmidt. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield with Rev. David Hoefler celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice, 800 E. Carpenter, Springfield, IL 62702 or Charity of Donor’s Choice. The family of Thaddeus J. Sullivan is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
