

Theodore F. "Ted" Hasara, 74, of Taylorville, died at 1:25 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at St. John's Hospice. Ted was born May 27, 1935 in Springfield, the son of John W. and Mary Masus Hasara. He married Carol Powers in Taylorville on December 16, 1994. Ted attended Cathedral Boys High School and the University of Notre Dame. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ted worked for Evans Construction Company for over thirty years as a carpenter and foreman. He belonged to Carpenters Union Local #16. Ted enjoyed playing golf, doing puzzles and spending time with his dog. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and three stepchildren, Patty Waterman, Steven and Regina Lashbrook. He is survived by his wife, Carol Hasara of Taylorville; three sons, Ted (wife, Margo) Hasara of Springfield, Tim (wife, Amy) Hasara of Chesterfield, MO and Mark Hasara of the Dominican Republic; one daughter, Ann Hasara of Springfield; grandson, Benjamin Hasara; three step-children, Brenda Jahanbani of California, Kenneth Lashbrook of Troy and David Lashbrook of Taylorville; brother, Jack (wife, Neva) Hasara; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces; one nephew; several cousins; and his dog, Buddy Boy the Shih-tzu. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Department of Defense.
