

Mr. Apenbrink is survived by his sister Linda S. Apenbrink of Springfield and five cousins: Edwin J. (Martha) Apenbrink of Las Vegas, NV., JoAnn (Wayman) Griffeth of Athens, GA., John C. Boyle of Mexico, MO., Susan (Michael) Bratton of Sun City, AZ., and Dr. Richard E. Meyer of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Tom graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1972 and then from Northeast Missouri State University which is now Truman State University. He had worked for the Quincy Police Department, the FBI, the Alexandria County (VA) Sheriff’s Office, the State Street Store in Quincy, and Famous Barr and Leath Furniture in Springfield. Tom was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC in Springfield where he served on various committees including the Chair of the Board of Trustees Committee, and he was a Past Master Counselor of the Quincy Chapter of the Order of DeMolay and a former member of the Quincy Jaycees.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road and burial will follow with a 2:30pm graveside service at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL. The family will meet friends from 4-7pm Tuesday at Bisch Funeral Home West.
